Erika Thomas, Léman’s Early Childhood and Lower School Literacy Coordinator, is celebrating her tenth year at Léman and her twenty-ninth year as an educator. After teaching Kindergarten and Grade 1, she now supports teachers and students from Early Childhood through Grade 5, helping to strengthen literacy instruction across the school. Erika loves collaborating with teachers, sharing ideas, and finding creative ways to meet every reader and writer where they are. She spends time in every Early Childhood and Lower School classroom reading aloud, leading small groups, and finding joy in those everyday literacy moments with students.
For Erika, literacy begins with confidence and connection. She helps students recognize their strengths, build a love of reading and writing, and discover that their words are a reflection of who they are. Erika is proud to be part of Léman’s warm, inclusive community, where small class sizes, collaboration, and creativity help every child shine. Her favorite reading spot? Anywhere she can share a great story with Léman’s curious young readers.
