Congratulations are in order to senior Aïda dS-N, who recently was awarded by 92NY for the significant contributions she’s made to her local community through the arts. Aïda, who has been dancing since she was four years old, was recognized at a special kick off event for 92NY’s 2024 Teen Arts Week. Launched in 2019, Teen Arts Week aims to shine a light on budding local artists and celebrate the vastness of arts programming around The Big Apple.
Having been nominated by one of her dance coaches, Aïda is one of this year’s five winners amongst a large and competitive selection of nominees. Each year, 92NY selects only one teen from each of the five boroughs to receive this highly-respected distinction.
“This award makes me feel encouraged and proud of myself,” started Aïda when asked how receiving this award made her feel. “I want to be a professional dancer and I know that it's a very intense and competitive career. But this award recognizes the commitments that I make to my passion every day, so it's a confidence boost!”
