Student Shoutout: John W. ‘31

Shout out to fifth grader John W. ‘31, who was recently invited by the Real Madrid Foundation to train with professional coaches in Madrid, Spain for a 10-day long soccer camp. Throughout, John practiced alongside his team in daily hours-long training sessions and participated in several soccer matches against skilled local teams. His dedication and hard work paid off, as he led his team to a perfect 3-0 record against the teams they scrimmaged with throughout their trip.
While in Madrid, John was also able to immerse himself in local culture by visiting landmarks such as the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (home to the Real Madrid Soccer Team) and the Prado Museum, enjoying the diversity of Spanish cuisine, and more.
The entire experience provided an in-depth lesson on the value of building new friendships, discipline, resilience, and teamwork, all things John will take with him for years to come.
