Students Celebrate Love of Reading with Project Cicero

In honor of Project Cicero, our community service partner for the month of March, and our ongoing commitment to fostering a love of reading, seventh graders and PreK 3 and 4 students paired up as reading buddies to share some favorite books. Léman worked with Project Cicero this month on three levels of partnership including a fundraising drive where we raised $988.59, a campus book drive where we collected twenty boxes of books for donation, and a volunteer initiative led by high school students who unpacked, sorted and displayed books at the Hotel Pennsylvania sorting and distribution center.
Project Cicero is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization which's primary goal is to enhance classroom and school libraries in under-resourced New York City public schools. They collect new and gently used books for children and young adults, receiving their donations from families with children in over 100 New York City independent, public and parochial schools. We are proud to support such an important initiative.
