Student Display Their Artistic Strengths at IB Art Show

On Tuesday, March 10, the entire Léman community was invited to attend the 2020 IB Visual Art Exhibition: Dissonance/Consonance. The exhibit featured artwork from the 2020 class of IB Visual Art students and included medium from painting and printmaking, to fashion design and photography. The focus of this year's exhibit was the concept of dissonance and consonance, disharmony and harmony. Each artwork explores the harmonies and disharmonies within formal and conceptual qualities. The push and pull of opposite and opposing forces can often lead to amazing discoveries about the human condition.
This exhibition was the culmination of two years of study for students in the IB Visual Arts course, which is designed both for students who want to go on to study visual arts in higher education, as well as for those who are seeking lifelong enrichment through visual arts. Supporting the Léman Learner Profile, the course encourages students to explore the visual arts within and across a variety of contexts and challenge their own creative and cultural expectations and boundaries.
