We're excited to announce the recipients of the Sara McMickle Summer Scholarship, which was awarded this spring to five Upper School students. Three of the students had the honor of meeting Sara's mother Ellen Spencer and her stepfather Bill Morris at a recent assembly where they celebrated the news.
This scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding Léman Manhattan high school students so they can pursue enriching summer coursework and research opportunities at leading colleges and universities.
The Summer Scholarship Program is named in honor of Léman Upper School College Counselor Sara McMickle, whose unwavering commitment to student success positively impacted the lives of hundreds of Léman students. Demonstrated by the personalized approach she took to advising and supporting each of her students, Sara helped students navigate the university admissions process to reach their college aspirations. She served as a constant source of mentorship and guidance for students throughout their high school experience at Léman.
Ai Omae (10th) - 3-Week Summer Immersion Program at Columbia University
Amber Perry (10th) - Intensive Law and Trial Program at Stanford University
Alberto Ramos (10th) - Science and Research Awareness Series at Stony Brook University
Dylan Blackman (10th) - Social Justice and Public Policy Academy at Georgetown University
Hunter D'Ancona (11th) - USC School of Cinematic Arts Summer Program at University of Southern California
