Léman Students Outperform Peers on MAP Tests
Academic Excellence Backed by Results

At Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, academic excellence isn’t just a goal — it’s a measurable outcome. Recent data from the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments show that Léman students consistently score above their peer students in both New York State and across the United States. These impressive results reflect the strength of Léman’s personalized, globally focused academic program and the school’s unwavering commitment to student growth.

Outperforming Local and National Averages

Each year, Léman students in grades 2–10 take the MAP tests in reading, math, and language. These computer-adaptive assessments provide a detailed picture of student learning and growth.

In the most recent testing cycle:

  • Léman students outperformed the national average in every grade and subject tested
  • Léman scores also exceeded New York State averages across reading, math and language
  • Many students demonstrated more than a year’s worth of academic growth in a single school year

These results are a testament to the individualized support, expert instruction, and personalized academic experiences that define a Léman education.

A Rigorous Program Designed for Growth

Léman’s curriculum is intentionally designed to challenge students while supporting their unique learning paths. From early childhood through the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in high school, Léman students are engaged in inquiry-based learning that builds deep understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

“We’re incredibly proud of how our students are growing — not just on paper, but as curious, confident learners,” said Maria Castelluccio, Head of School at Léman Manhattan. “Our MAP scores reflect the strength of our teaching and the incredible performance and potential of our students.”

More Than Just a Test Score

While MAP scores are one of many indicators of student success, they provide valuable insights into how well students are mastering academic skills. At Léman, we use this data to tailor instruction, track progress, and ensure that every student is achieving at their highest potential.

Whether students are working above grade level or need extra support in certain areas, our educators use MAP data to personalize learning, set goals, and maximize outcomes.
