June 05, 2020
As the 12th Grade Representative to the Léman Boarding Student Government, Co-President of the Léman Pre-Med Club, Vice President of the Léman Sustainability and Environmental Design Club, Executive Officer of Public Forum Debate of the Léman Debate Club, a member of the National Honor Society and the Boys Varsity Volleyball Team, David Jeon held a variety of leadership roles in his time at Léman.
Those leadership roles prepared David for admission to NYU, ranked number 29 in National Universities by U.S. News and World Report, “I chose NYU because it’s an excellent school and I wanted to stay close to friends and family in New York City. I’m planning on following in my father’s footsteps and enrolling in the Pre-Dental program,” he said.
David feels he’ll be prepared for NYU because of his experience as an IB Diploma Candidate, “The additional requirements of the IB curriculum such as TOK and the Extended Essay allowed me to hone my writing skills and provided me with a college-level academic experience,” he said.
Although he only graduated last week, David is already looking back at his time at Léman fondly. He said, “I loved being a part of such a diverse community. Léman provided me with experiences I couldn’t have had anywhere else.”
