Léman Community Volunteers with Rise Against Hunger

October 20, 2017

On Monday, October 16, in honor of World Hunger Day, Léman partnered with Rise Against Hunger to host our third annual community volunteer food packing event.
This year, almost 400 students, faculty, staff, and parents participated in the full-day event where they packed 25,000 meals. As part of the initiative, Léman, the Eisenhower School in Bridgewater, NJ, and Rutgers Prep in Somerset, NJ collectively packed over 100,000 meals, which will be sent to those impacted by recent hurricanes in the Dominican Republic. This was a terrific opportunity for the entire community to collaborate as global citizens, one of the important traits of a Léman learner, to make our world a better place.
Rise Against Hunger featured members of the Léman community on their website in a special blog post about the event here.
