Our Libraries

Our libraries are a showcase for information literacy, engaged learning, creative expression, and pleasure reading.

At the CECE/Lower School, every student has scheduled time in the library. An emphasis is heavily placed on teaching students about the joys of reading for pleasure and learning new information. A vital story program captures the varied interests of children at different ages and reading levels. In hand with the school philosophy, developmentally appropriate research skills are taught and practiced to promote independent learning. Poetry and literature enrichment clubs for students extend the library’s welcome.

The Upper School library provides resources to support curriculum and independent reading. Librarian’s guide student research projects, lead book discussions, teach research and information literacy skills and cultivate a learning atmosphere for individual study and collaborative projects. In addition to the physical space, the library encompasses a virtual space where students can access rich electronic resources at any time and from any place.
