Academics

High School (Grades 9-12):
Unmatched Academic Excellence

In Grades 9-12, Léman students immerse themselves in university-level coursework and a range of extracurricular and leadership activities in the New York area and beyond, including international opportunities that broaden their horizons and offer rich academic and cultural learning experiences.

Léman Manhattan offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, recognized as the worldwide gold standard for academic excellence and a sought-after credential by top colleges and universities. Through the IB approach to learning, our High School program cultivates globally-minded, principled thinkers. Léman students are agents of change and demonstrate a commitment to service and sense of purpose.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

High School students have the option to earn an IB Diploma – a highly respected credential in addition to their regular high school diploma – by completing a two-year advanced program during 11th and 12th Grades. The IB focuses on building knowledge, skills, and independent critical and creative thought to help students make connections between areas of study. Studies show that IB Diploma students are better prepared to excel at university-level coursework than their peers.

Leadership and Service

Our High School is an innovative and dynamic place where young adults are challenged to participate in leadership-building activities across the school and their communities to prepare for being world citizens of the 21st century. Léman students are creative problem-solvers who value service and are actively engaged in the school community and beyond.

Advisory

Each High School student is part of a small advisory group that meets multiple times a week. In Grades 9-12, Advisory focuses on five primary areas: academic support, college counseling, internal and external community building and community service, current events, and important social topics relevant to students in the 9th through 12th Grades.

College Counseling

Léman students benefit from a tremendous wealth of resources offered to them by the Office of College Counseling, including best-in-class SAT and ACT test preparation, and customized student and family work sessions dedicated to helping students find the right school that aligns with their goals and interests.
